Haven't spent much time with this FP. Sekarang rajin buka Facebook je (thinking of abandoning fotopage ni actually...still contemplating)...
Lately tak banyak pun ambik gambar, till yesterday. We went to the Hot Air Balloon Fiesta in Putrajaya.

A new episode begins

I guess it's still not too late to wish everyone Selamat Tahun Baru. A new year, a new beginning. Been rather occupied so far, with Syakir beginning school, etc, etc.
Amir Syakir starts school this year. This photo of him was taken on Hari Suaikenal, the week before school starts (ada org kata Syakir makin gelap.  Well, sebab asyik gi swimming la tu masa cuti hari tu).
The school made some slight changes to the school uniform this year, which includes black shoes, instead of white. Thank goodness for that!
Masa Hari Suaikenal tu pun, baru a few hours kat sekolah, baju dah comot. Berpeluh2 and bau masam! Fuhhh... 
Anyway, first two weeks ni masih lagi Minggu Transisi (MT). Tengok buku2 yg diberi utk MT ni, lebih kurang mcm buku tadika la. Budak2 pun bosan je, kena tulis ABC, page by page. Hehe...
Later this week baru dpt buku teks. We'll see how it goes.
Syakir has also started his piano lesson. Mula2 dia beriya2 sgt nak belajar violin. Dari tahun 2007 lagi (pengaruh Little Einsteins). But when we brought him to the music school, they didn't have a small enough violin to fit his size. Furthermore, they required him to start learning the piano/keyboard dulu, which he didn't want. So tangguh la dulu...
A few mths back, we decided to try at another music school. Thankfully they were more flexible in the sense they allowed a child to learn the violin without learning the keyboard/piano first, as long as the child has an interest. They even gave a free trial lesson. However, during the trial lesson, Syakir seemed bored. Cikgu dia pun tak berapa reti nak interact dgn budak2 kecik kan. First lesson tu bukannya boleh terus main violin. Kena belajar pegang violin betul2 dulu. Practise cara pegang bow and violin dgn betul. Syakir pun bosan la. Penat pegang, katanya.
So, we gave him an alternative. A piano lesson. Cikgu piano ni pompuan. Much better la cara dia interact dgn Syakir. Siap dpt sticker pelbagai. Dipendekkan cerita, Syakir seems to like his piano lessons (half an hour je weekly) so far (baru dua kali). Dah ada homework... itu Ummi serah kat Ayah la ye, nak tolong Syakir. Ummi buta music. Tak reti.. tak pernah belajar muzik.

Happy Birthday Syakir!!
He's 6 years old today. I could still remember clearly that Thursday night 6 years ago...the labour pain trying to get him out into the world. ..and the relieve when he finally came out...
Alhamdulillah, he's a healthy, smart 6 years old now.
(Did I tell you he got number 1 in his tadika exam? And he got the prize for 'Pelajar Terbaik 6 tahun' too ).
Reward naik train and pergi zoo would have to wait for now. Coz insyaAllah Sabtu ni Syakir nak bersunat 
Since Izzah would be turning 2 next Monday, Ummi pun nak wish Izzah Happy Birthday!
Dah besar ni, makin banyak akal. Right now kerap sangat jadi parrot, repeating the words we mention. And suka sgt 'gaduh' dgn Abang. Apa Abang pegang, itu dia nak. Tapi dia sayang Abang tu... Apa2 aktiviti dia nak buat, or apa2 yg dia nak makan, mesti dia panggil Abang suruh join sekali
Ummi doakan semoga Syakir & Izzah menjadi anak yang soleh & solehah, cemerlang dunia & akhirat. Amin!

Thanks for the comments in the previous entries. Tak berpeluang nak reply satu2. Alhamdulillah, I'm happy that you like the photos of the insects. Puas hati dapat kongsi gambar makhluk2 ciptaan Allah kat muka bumi ni. Ada yg tak pernah dilihat. Ada yang cantik, ada yg pelik.
Menjawab pertanyaan Hezlin; no, I tak berani ambik wedding nye job (yet?). It's a big responsibility, coz bagi I, since wedding tu kan sekali seumur hidup je, gambar kenalah cantik2. Takut nanti tak meet pengantin nye expectations, susah...Tak suka disappointkan org.
Lagipun, for me, ambik gambar nature & landscape is different from ambik gambar wedding. Masa kat UK dulu, I suka ambik gambar landscape and photos of my son. Entahlah, maybe weather kat sana yang tak panas terik makes the photos look nice. Nak bawa beg kamera ke hulu hilir pun tak penat coz tak panas. Ambik gambar outdoor tak perlu sgt guna flash (tgk keadaan lah kan), thus tak payah bawa flash camera ku yg bagak itu
For now, I'll just leave the wedding assignments to the pro. Lots of them out there Thanks anyway for inquiring, Hezlin

Photos taken this morning. Quite a number of bugs and insects in my garden. Mostly pests though. Have to get rid of most of them. Habis pokok timun ku!
Even managed to witness the black insect below (species apa entah) meninggalkan bahan buangannya atas daun pokok terung telunjuk. Adalah keluar dua ketul (excuse me! ) before a big black ant scared it away! hehe...
Yang species merah lonjong mcm gambar bawah sekali tu pulak, I saw one of them 'mengeluarkan' titisan2 halus cecair from its backside. Tried to capture it on camera, but all I got was a blurry streak.
If u look closely, nampak insect ni tgh poo-poo tu kan?

Mega Ihtifal 2008

Photos from last Sunday's Ihtifal. 4 tadika Little Caliphs gabung sekali. Thus "Mega Ihtifal".
Tried using the settings suggested by bro Azli (http://azliyusof.fotopages.com) who captured very nice pics during his daughter's ihtifal. Tapi tak berapa menjadi lah (But of course, bro Azli pro. Tak boleh tanding la ). Tak cukup lighting kot. Dah naikkan ISO ke 1600. Tapi ada gambar yg gelap (shadowy). Last2 had to resort to using external flash gak (itupun towards the end of the majlis, battery dah low, flash lambat nak recharge, maka terdapatlah beberapa keping gambar yg gelap  ).
Anyway, I'd better upload these pics now coz Sabtu ni ada lagi satu event nak cover. Same venue. Syakir's end of year concert pulak. Nak try experiment with ISO 3200 lak (tapi sure grainy kan?).
That's my boy...

Gambo raya (dah basi..)

Baru hari ni nak upload gambo raya. hehe.. dah basi. Dalam facebook, dah lama upload.
Ni gambo2 masa hari terakhir puasa and 1st Syawal.
Anyway, dlm entry lepas, I mentioned that my Raya was so-so. Know why? Coz tahun ni kitorang tak buat lemang.
As far as I could remember, whenever I was around, Syakir's Atok would always make lemang for Raya. Malah, masa zaman sekolah dulu, ikut Atok cari buluh lemang, daun pisang, tolong isi beras, etc, tolong jaga api sampai lemang masak. Tapi makan lemang tak la seberapa.
Tahun ni, Atok tak berapa sihat. So tiada proses pembuatan lemang berlaku di rumah Atok tahun ni. Raya mcm tak complete...for me lah. Coz it was like an annual ritual...
Ni pulak gambar2 taken on 2nd Syawal. Kat kampung. Budak2 yg seronok beraya kan...
Atok sejak tak berapa sihat ni dah makin kurus...
Cerita ringkas2 je kali ni. Masih busy...
